Chat Isn’t Always the Answer

In HCAI, we have designed a few decision-assistance tools that can perform analysis and simulations. However, I worry that the standard chat UI is too limiting: it’s frustrating to watch analysis and simulation results scroll away and become difficult to access post hoc. Frameworks like A2UI, in which “AI agents…generate tailored UI widgets in real-time, matching the interface to the user’s specific interaction,” are an interesting potential solution to this problem.
